My aim as an artist is to invent digital software techniques that produce colorful, original abstract images with geometrical forms that borrow from the mathematics of natural forms and phenomena. Most digital art appears vapid to me, so I challenge myself to make things that are original and speak of a human heart and mind behind what is machine-made. To this end I think of my work as exploring the connection between mathematics and nature. Art is said to imitate nature, and natural laws are described in the language of mathematics. So to me, art, nature, and mathematics seem deeply connected. - DR
